Because we are a boutique music festival, nestled near the small community of Walsenburg, CO we ask you all to please remain respectful of our neighbors and the on-site rules we have in place.

Re-Entry

There is no re-entry for Sonic Bloom. You CAN go to your car as much as you need though. The parking area is considered part of the festival.

Alcohol

In the Campground: Vending of alcohol (or anything else) in the Campground is prohibited without permits from Huerfano County. However, if you are twenty-one or over, you can bring in a limited amount of alcohol for your personal consumption. You may bring: 2 cases of CANNED beer per person per car (no kegs), and one PLASTIC bottle of liquor (up to 1.75 liter) per person per car, and 2 BOXES of wine per person per car. NO GLASS CONTAINERS OF ANY KIND. Hummingbird Ranch is a working cattle ranch and shards of broken glass are a major risk to the animals after we leave the site. No glass containers, alcohol or food, will be allowed into the venue. It is illegal to provide alcohol to anyone under twenty-one.

In the Venue: We will have a full-bar with everything you need on-site, and the fine staff from Cervantes’ pouring their famous heavy handed drinks all weekend long. Those with a valid state-issued ID showing that they are twenty-one or over will be able to access the bar. No Campground alcohol can enter the venue and no venue alcohol can be taken out.

  • NO Outside alcohol of any kind allowed into the festival area.
  • NO Open Containers or Coolers allowed in or out of the gates.
  • NO Under Age drinking
  • NO Illegal Substances

Pets

Sonic Bloom has a policy against dogs because the festival environment is stressful for animals and has lead to bites and other incidents. For Americans with Disabilities Act info, please see the the “SERVICE ANIMALS” section below. Sonic Bloom is not a place to bring your pet. It is hot, crowded, loud, and there is little shade. It is very stressful for animals and a usually well-behaved pet may feel the need to protect its owner by attacking another person or animal. Anyone bringing an animal to Sonic Bloom will be responsible for and liable for any damage or injury caused by the animal. It is against the law to allow your animal to harm a service animal. Doing so can result in jail time, fines, paying the many thousands of dollars it takes to retrain or replace a service animal, paying for time lost at work by the service animal’s owner and more. Patrons caught with pets at Sonic Bloom will be ejected.

Are you traveling with your pet? Be a responsible and loving dog-parent by leaving it at an animal kennel BEFORE arriving at Sonic Bloom. There are kennels nearby in Walsenburg.

Everyone Feels Safe

Sonic Bloom believes everyone should feel safe during the music festival. We will help maintain this by not tolerating harmful behaviors, which may include non-consensual touching or verbal harassment. If a participant chooses to break these policies they may be removed from the fest. If someone or something makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, no matter how minor it may seem, please do not stay silent. You can report it to any Sonic Bloom staff member and they will follow your lead and work with you to try to make sure it does not happen again and that you continue to feel safe at our festival.

Sonic Bloom has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to: race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, gender presentation, sexual orientation, age, body size, disability, appearance, religion, citizenship, pregnancy.

Harassment includes but is not limited to: stalking, verbal or physical intimidation, offensive verbal comments, physical assault and/or battery, harassing or non-consensual photography or recording, bathroom policing, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome physical attention.

The Community

Please be courteous to your neighbors and look out for one another. If you see someone who may need help, please let our staff know so that we can make sure that they are OK. Our top goal is your safety.

  • NO CAMPFIRES or OPEN FLAMES in the campgrounds (including charcoal grills, tiki torches, Chinese lanterns and candles). Propane grills may be allowed depending on whether the County has a Fire Ban in place.
  • NO Unauthorized Vending
  • NO Weapons or Laser Pointers
  • NO Glitter
  • NO Fireworks or Chinese lanterns: Forest fire is a very real concern at this site.
  • NO Nitrous Tanks. All nitrous tanks will be confiscated and violators will be ejected from the venue and subject to prosecution under local, state, and federal laws.
  • NO Under Age drinking
  • NO Illegal Substances
  • NO GLASS CONTAINERS OF ANY KIND

Marijuana

Those twenty-one and older may possess a limited amount of marijuana legally in Colorado. The law prohibits consumption in a “public place.” Current legal interpretation is that the area inside the venue is a “public place” but your campsite is not.

Smoking

Mind your butts! Cigarette butts can start fires that endanger us all. Please extinguish and deposit your butts in the trash.

Keep it Clean

You have heard it before, leave no trace. We think you should do this everywhere you go, and Sonic Bloom is no exception. Take your trash, your tents and your rage sticks with you when you leave.

  •  All personal belongings must be removed from the concert area at the conclusion of each night’s performances
  • Keep the Scene Clean: Please clean up your area during and after your stay. Recycle centers, trash containers and trash bags are readily available

Personal Amplified Sound

All amplified sound systems in the campground must be turned off between midnight and 10:00 AM.

Photography

If you want to take professional quality photos or videos contact our MEDIA TEAM and make arrangements in advance. Otherwise you will have to put your professional equipment in your tent.

Service Animals

Service Animal Policy – Service Animals YES, Pets NO. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the definition of “service animal” is limited to a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability who is in attendance. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability. Under the ADA, “comfort,” “therapy,” or “emotional support animals” do not meet the definition of a service animal. – U.S. Dept. of Justice.

Ejection Policy: Those who masquerade their pet as a service animal or violate the rules for service animals will be ejected from the site without refund.

Service Animal Procedure: For everyone’s safety, all vehicles and attendees are searched for contraband. Those who bring animals should identify themselves when security first approaches the vehicle. All animals and their handlers must check in at the Box Office. After screening, service animal handlers will receive documentation indicating the service animal has been screened. Staff are not likely to question you again unless the animal causes a problem. Those bringing pets will be turned away and may return only after boarding their pet in town.

Caring For Your Service Animal:

  • Do not leave your animal at your campsite. All service animals must remain by the handler’s side at all times and must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.
  • It’s hot and dry. Be prepared to carry and provide plenty of water for your service animal.

We encourage everyone to sleep/stay and enjoy the festival Sunday night. Everyone will need to leave Monday morning. The festival site closes at NOON on MONDAY. Please travel safe on your way home.
