Olive is offering several traditional cultural teachings, creation stories, and respected community roles of gender fluidity from around the world. The workshop addresses gender historically being understood as beyond two genders, beyond Westernized concepts of "queer", and beyond a mere personal identity of "gender", with a brief history of criminalization, erasure, and homogenization of nonbinary genders being confronted. Early historical records, Indigenous, European, Pacific Islander, Asian, and several more perspectives will be offered.
