The Very Hungry Yogi (Creative Storytelling Through Yoga)
You and your child are invited to a world of storytelling, healthy eating, and yoga. Inspired by the popular children’s story about a hungry caterpillar, this yoga flow energizes our bodies and teaches us about the importance of choosing the right foods every day of the week. (Feel free to drop your child off for the 2 hours so that you may check out a workshop, DJ, or just take a break.)
Your-Awesome-Self: I LOVE ME! (Creative Storytelling With Art)
Now is the time to teach our kids about inner strength and self-love. Every child deserves to feel comfortable in their own skin. Every child should feel brave enough to speak their mind. Every child should proudly say, “I love myself just the way I am.” Drop your kids off for 2 hours or hang out while we read 3 books about being ‘your-awesome-self’. While we read through the books we will have group discussions and work on our I LOVE ME art project. (Book titles: Stand Tall Molly-Lou Melon; Tacky the Penguin; Just Because I am; your choice? Feel free to bring a book of your own to share-we can always improvise and collaborate. )
Mama KuLeana and Soulomon (5yo in August) are a mommy-son duo who volunteer at almost every transformational festival on the west coast since 2012. Mama is an environmental biology student taking a break from her studies to focus on her son’s homeschooling adventure. Soulomon just finished preschool at Montessori and is in his first month of eco-conscious kindergarten. Together, Souly and Mama work as a team to preserve and protect Mother Earth, and encourage our friends to do the same. This will be our first time hosting workshops together. Mama’s previous experience working with children over the last 15 years includes preschool yoga instructor, preschool gymnastics coach, swim instructor, lifeguard and Gymboree Teacher.
