Promising to be the first to tell the story of a cultural phenomenon having profound influence on hundreds of thousands of lives, a new documentary webseries, The Bloom: A Journey Through Transformational Festivals, officially launched with the on-line release of its Series Preview.

The preview by series co-producers Jeet-Kei Leung and Akira Chan features footage from outdoor events filmed all over the world during the summer of 2012, deemed “Transformational Festivals” by the series creators for their focus on supporting personal and social transformation. During its initial week, the 9 & 1/2 minute preview received over 18,000 views & 9,100 combined Facebook ‘likes’, originating from the sharing of a single Facebook post.

“The new festival is going beyond commercial entertainment,” says director and host Leung, whose TEDx talk on Transformational Festivals went viral, garnering acclaim for its lucid articulation of the subject. “They’ve grown beyond being simply parties to places where we’re actually practicing and experiencing the world we wish to live in.”

Since 2008, relaXsonic has been traveling extensively throughout North America showcasing their unique entertainment concept at music, yoga, and consciousness festivals as well as private functions and other public gatherings.

The tremendous gratitude from fans and participants incited an expansion from hobby to a full time commitment. In 2009, the first relaXsonic tour (then known as Gong The Planet) ensued with great success. The group set off on a 28 state tour that lasted almost six months, which allowed them to share their performances with thousands of unsuspecting festival patrons effectively making them a staple on the music festival circuit,

With their concept being so unusual, the natural curiosity of the public brought a seemingly endless stream of questions. By the end of their 2010 summer tour, the group had collected hundreds of hours of video footage of their travels and concluded they needed a piece of media that could answer the continuous flow of inquiries about their activities, the science behind the experience, and how they got started. This need manifested the per-production of a feature documentary tentatively entitled Gong The Planet.

To achieve this the crew promptly booked a cross country fall performance schedule that included video interviews of the North America’s top gong performers and practitioners. Their interaction and exchanges with the interviewees has raised their knowledge, awareness, articulation, effectively improving their offering which has consistently impressed concert goers this festival season.

2011 summer tour showed so much promise and potential for the crew that they added 6 more tour dates through the fall leading them to the Sierra Nevada mountains, where they will spend the winter together working diligently on recording their first CD while conceptualizing and implementing 2012′s summer program.

On the nightclub and festival circuits, the fruits of their labor have included, several European tours, countless shows across the USA, New Zealand and Australia, a massive South American tour, and shows in Asia. Truth has built this performance presence through DJ support from Mala, Skream, Youngsta, Hatcha and N-Type, to name a few, giving their music an advance presence at key club nights like DMZ in London, Club Love in New York and through seminal radio stations such as BBC Radio One, Kiss Fm and Rinse FM.

Through keynote DJ support, they have been rewarded with single releases via Deep Medi Muzik, Tempa Records, Wheel and Deal, Blackbox Recs, Aquatic Lab, Disfigured Dubz, Argon and Boka Records. Through these, including critically ‘The Fatman’ (as released via Deep Medi Muzik) and their acclaimed Aquatic Lab released album Puppets, Truth have seen their stock rise, placing them as in-demand remixers and collaborators to The Nextmen, Miss Dynamite, Shapeshifter, The Black Seeds, Silkie, Kromestar, Tunndige, Datsik and countless figures of note within the international dubstep community.
