Electric Dandelion is the musical manifestation of Los Angeles multi instrumentalist Alan Joseph. Intuitively fusing elements of trip hop, ambient, industrial and downtempo, Electric Dandelion’s luscious melodic bass heavy soundscapes take listeners on a journey into the elements of the soul to reveal a deep sense of oneness. His music offers audiences an auditory world saturated in cosmic bass, dripping with sensual and emotional beauty.
Electric Dandelion’s musical journey began at the of 10 when he started playing drums. While playing in numerous bands, he continued his musical education in college where he studied classical guitar and voice. Inspired by ‘shoegazer’ music, he produced 5 solo albums under the name Hoverspace. Hoverspace albums were filled with ethereal guitars, sensual beats, gritty basslines and celestial vocals. After attending Burning Man, he was inspired to produce idm, glitch-hop, breakbeat and downtempo music. Under the name Dandelion, he quickly became a sunrise fan-favorite among the Los Angeles underground scene while being a resident DJ at Space Island (2004 -2008). In 2009, he changed his name to Electric Dandelion and continued spinning frequently at numerous Los Angeles hotspots .
Over the past several years, Electric Dandelion has performed at events such as Coachella, Sonic Bloom, Lightning In A Bottle, Electric Picnic(Ireland), Lucidity Festival, Enchanted Forest, Indigo Vortex, Lunacy Festival, Burning Man and Pasha(India). He has also shared stages with a wide range of respected artists such as Bassnectar, FreQ Nasty, Tipper, Bluetech, Photek and Lee Combs.
Electric Dandelion’s music has been selected for compilations, documentaries, commercials and short films. His song ‘Bass Tribe’ from the Bloom Series documentary compilation made it’s debut at #29 on the addictech top downloads of 2013. In 2014, Electric Dandelion’s debut album ‘Metamorphosis’ is being released through Muti Music on June 2nd exclusively on Addictch . On June 16th , ‘Metamorphosis’ will be released globally on Beatport, Amazon, iTunes, JunoDownload and Addictech.
