Merkabah Yoga: Embodiment of Unity Consciousness
Madeline Grace Fauss
The Merkabah is a chariot, a form that consciousness can embody as a vehicle to commune with the divine, universal aspects of existence. Merkabah Yoga is a unique fusion of Kundalini-Naam Yoga, Universal Kabbalah and the fundamental principles of Sacred Geometry. Lux Moderna invites you to galactivate your personal Merkabah as she guides you through a series of yogic and meditative practices that emphasize the conscious, embodied alchemy of sound and light!
In this workshop we will specifically engage Ajna, the third eye, in order to call kundalini energy fully to the level of the heart and throat. By doing so, we enhance our capacity to love and express ourselves. In this process, we align our hearts and minds in the spirit of intuitive grace. We will work through practices such as the Phi Ratio Breath, Pranayama, Sacred Geometry-oriented Asana, Mantra (Chanting), Mudras (Sacred Hand Gestures), and a Heart Singularity Meditation.
Madeline has had seven years experience instructing others in meditation and intuitive development. In 2010, she was certified as a Naam Yoga Therapy instructor, and in 2011, became an Emissary working alongside The Resonance Project Foundation. It is her hope to help others consciously and harmoniously embody resonance with the fundamental principles of the universe through yoga, meditation, music and chanting mantra. This yoga workshop is carried by mantra bass music composed by Sacha Csicsery-Ronay (Dubvirus) and myself (Lux Moderna).

Expanding the Current on Hoop Dance Technique
Nick Guzzardo
Focusing on introducing new techniques and movements, Nick will push your hooping limits and leave you inspired with a whole new perspective on hoop dance. We’ll pay attention to an area of our bodies that is mostly forgotten when we hoop, thus Expanding our Current to a new level. We’ll learn the basics of head hooping and how it lifts the barrier of our hoops up and out of the way so our body can move and dance more freely, allowing us to explore movement with new eyes. We will go over dance techniques, momentum, and off body moves that can become connections to other movements and techniques, realizing that if you can see it in your head you can make it happen. Thinking of the word “Current” in a different light, Nick will explain moves like body rolls in a digestible way while breaking away from strict and exact direction. We would like you to discover connections, to seek your own flow, and to explore the world of your body in relation to hoop. Throwing away our trick mindset for a more open sourced view, we learn that movement is free and is ours for the taking!
Nick Guzzardo has become known as a prodigy in the hooping society. Since 2010, Nick taught and performed at multiple hoop events, festivals and retreats around the country. A winner of a 2011 Hoopie Award and member of the Electric Forest Hoop Troop, Nick is still somewhat of a newbie hooper and instructor in the scene. His innovative dance style of “Head Hooping” and dynamic athleticism is what makes him a unique and inspiring talent in the community.

Exploring the Flowers of Poi
Kanyon Walker
In this workshop we will explore one of the most beautiful parts of poi spinning: Flowers. We start by opening up our shoulders for this new movement with a stretching exercise that will explore all timings and directions that our shoulders and arms will be doing in this workshop. After a small warm up we will jump right into flowers and what they can mean for your Poi dance! We will explore pendulums/extendulums, in spin flowers with variations, anti-spin flowers , and variations combining all the different movements. This workshop will be a great introduction in full reach movement for beginners while challenging experienced spinners to think about the pattern they are drawing and how these movements can break open the doorway into finding your flow.
Kanyon Walker started spinning poi in his small apartment in Ann Arbor, MI in 2007. In the past 5 years he has performed and taught at a variety of events and festivals across the Midwest and Colorado. Kanyon has performed for acts such as Shpongle, Dirtyphonics, Of Montreal, FreQnasty, and many more. Qi Gong Activation Through the Ancient Art of Silk Reeling
Bryan Rodriguez
My teacher told me that if you ask a master how he circulates Qi (Energy), he will say, “I think and it moves.” But how? The foundation of Qi Gong is the silk reeling exercises. Silk reeling is the practice of performing specific movements with Shin Fa (Chinese Biomechanics) that activate lines and spirals of energy through the body. There are specific physical movements that activate every meridian (Energy Channels). By performing these movements with awareness, you begin to understand how everything you do in life moves energy one way or another through the body. Learn simple and efficient ways to open the doors of Qi sensing. The sensing of Qi can be easier then most think and less esoteric than some perceive. Learning to fly through the Emerald Bamboo forest is another class!
